This picture shows how an earthquake happen.

When the starting of an earthquake the land start to bend (B), because it starts to shake harder the land starts to split (C) then at the peak of the earthquake the land splits into 2 (D).











 This picture shows the areas where earthquake could happen. As you can see, Indonesia is surrounded by the Ring of Fire, that is why there are a lot of earthquakes in Indonesia.
